OUR MISSION

  • Our mission is the overall development of the Coir industry through research, development and extension/dissemination, modernization and quality upgradation, human resource development, better marketing and improvement in the quality of life of all who are engaged in the coir industry.

OUR VALUES

  • We are committed to cooperation, transparency, integrity, discipline and courtesy in dealing with citizens, especially workers, manufactures and exporters in the coir industry and solving the problems of the industry for its all-round development.

OUR COMMITMENT

  • We will strive hard, in a spirit of public – private partnership, to help those who are engaged in coir industry directly or indirectly by the implementation of the Coir Board’s programmes by way of  providing technical knowhow and training, market intelligence and support and financial assistance. Confidentiality of business information disclosed to us will be ensured.

  • We will strive to simplify the rules, regulations and  procedures and introduce information technology based facilities to improve the quality of interface with the citizens.

  • We will implement the  provisions of the Right to Information Act, 2005 in letter and spirit.

OUR OBJECTIVES

  • Our social objective is to improve the living conditions of those engaged in this industry, especially the workers and manufacturers.

  • Our economic objective is to help generate additional employment opportunities, encourage production of quality products acceptable to the export and domestic markets and facilitate reasonable returns to producers and exporters.

  • Our overall objective is to create in active collaboration with all stakeholders, a self reliant environment for healthy and sustainable growth of the industry.

STANDARDS FOR GENERAL ROCEDURES

  • We will respond to all written inquires within 15 days of receipt of the same.  If, for some reason, it is not possible to furnish the requested details in 15 days, an interim  reply will be sent.

  • Developments relevant to the industry will be communicated to the trade within 4 weeks.

  • The field officers of the Board will be fully equipped and empowered for effective implementation of the programme allocated.

  • Surveys and studies required for policy planning and programme formulation will be conducted from time to time in various sectors of the coir industry.
